I went to Evergreen Eye Center for my biannual checkup. I was told that I had cataracts, so I had to go through a visit with the surgeon. I did that, and I was told what the procedure would involve. At that time, I was quoted $400. I am on Medicare, so I called Medicare and asked why I was being charged $400. They told me that I should not be charged extra for a standard lens, because a lens has to be put in regardless.
