Dr. Karsen was my doctor for several years. Minimal care, almost always seemed like a waste of time for both of us. I felt like he never took the time to get to know me as his patient. Then I was hospitalized for 17 days and my family tried to call him constantly to get him to speak to the doctors there to explain that it was a detrimental environment for me due to my PTSD and would only exacerbate my symptoms. Dr. Karsen has been my doctor for over 3 years and has done a fantastic job. He's open, understanding, non-judgmental, and consistent. You can tell he's actually listening and genuinely interested in his patients. He's passionate when working with me and does a great job in providing sustainable solutions to my mental health and overall well-being.
This new doctor is just plain terrible. I always feel rushed and end up talking mostly to his associates/residents or whatever. He is quite hesitant to prescribe a med or continue to prescribe it (simply because he does not like it), even when you have made it quite clear that it is the ONLY one that truly helps your condition. I know my body best, what works for me and will find a competent doctor with years of experience that understands/shares that same philosophy.
This doctor is not worth going to because of his lack of experience and his inability to understand drug therapy. He didn't even know which drugs worked best for my illness. He is also way too much of a pushover. Don't waste your time with this doctor. I know he gave someone Latuda, a highly expensive drug for bipolar disorder, when the family was struggling financially. Very inconsiderate young fellow.
