The local astronomy club meets there on the last Saturday night of the month. There is a guest speaker and then, weather permitting, an observation session follows and there is a large telescope available for the public to view through. The quality of the speakers has been very good when I have attended, in part because of the highly educated population of Estes Park and in part because of the scientific research facilities in the Denver and Boulder areas. Mike is an absolute gem and what he’s doing is remarkable and important. This was an amazing way to spend a few hours. We learned so much and even saw Saturn! The set-up has high-tech gear but humble surroundings. A must-see for a visit to Estes Park.
