Accomodating – I too am shocked at the negative reviews posted because I have always had excellent service and the food has always been fresh and of good quality. I have attended many functions at his location and he has catered several events for my company. I actually have booked him for an upcoming function next month. I would highly recommend him to friends and family.
Excellent – I am shocked to read the August 20 2011 review because that is not the experience I have had the many times that I have attended events catered by Essie's. Please do not let what appears to be a personal vendetta affect Essie's reputation. I have used Essie twice and attended numerous events catered by him. The food was top quality, the service was impeccable. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to friends.
Essie is a sweet talker that tricks you in the end. He halfway does everything and nothing is to the standards of the prices that you pay. Ive rented property from him as well and the place was infested with bugs for months, and the foundation was falling and his response was that it was because of the weather. He never bothered to learn my name and degraded me based on my lifestyle. I would never do business with him or his catering business. Youre better off spending your money anywhere else.
aweful – I used Essie for a party recently. It was terrible!!! Essie was incredibly rude and arrogant. To make it worse, I overheard him talking to someone about Jews and how Israel is the enemy. How unbelievably Anti- Semitic!!!!
Essie catered a family wedding in SC. He was ordering the groomsmen around before the wedding, having them load ice and carry plates. He was rude, unprepared, and unprofessional. Food was mundane but decent. I would definitely not recommend his services to anyone.
couldnt find the unused wine after the reception....wonder where it all went15 bottles purchased and 9 bottles unaccounted for
Groomsmen are not hired help. – Essie catered a family wedding in SC. He ordered the groomsmen around while they were trying to get their pictures taken--having them carry ice, move plates, etc. He was rude, unprofessional, and unprepared. My family paid for a certain number of bottles of wine and he kept 2/3 of it, even when we requested the unused bottles. Essie recently catered an event for my family. We made an agreement to buy the wine by the bottle. At the end of the event, Essie took the remaining bottles of wine that we purchased. Also, he had some of the guests loading ice from coolers before the event. He took advantage of my familys help. As for the food, the meat was dry and the vegetables and potatoes were cold.
