One of the best in New York City! – Essential skin care does some of the best facial in New York City. I highly recommend the facialist , Dorothy. I had many treatments from her over the past few years including facials and microdermabrasion and glycolic treatments. She is very gentle and is extremely thorough and detail oriented! Excellent service given. Unlike some of the prvious customers listed, I've never had anyone there push products for me to buy. I highly recomend trying this salon for a facial.
Very relaxing vibe. – Best massage professionals. Freindly and inviting staff very professional. The have open house now and then be sure to check it out.
Dont Go !!!! – I felt obligated to take time out to write this review, espeically for those who suffer from break-outs, etc. First of all, you don't get quality treatment. For me, they recommended that i get a package of the alpha-beta peels (six peels every other week). They leave the peel on for about five minutes. Great Facial & Microdermabrasion – I had no idea what microdermabrasion would do for me and I am so glad I tried it. I had dead cells that were blocking my "shine" and "glow". Now that I had it done (with a facial) I can notice the difference in my skin.

mixed opinion – i went there 6 times over this past summer for 6 microdermabrasions/facials. some good things: clean, comfortable, good value. the bad: the hard sell. big turn-off. when i try a sample product over a month and see no results (facial serum to eliminate sun spots) i do not wish to pay $65 for a tiny bottle of it. i expressed that each time when they asked if i wanted it. i understand they need to sell, but please don't do it while i'm relaxing on the table. also inconsistenecy: each facial included an extractio... read more
definitely worth it... – After trying tons of products & places that never work, Essential finally did. They push their products (MD Formulations) because they ACTUALLY work. The staff is honest, helpful and effective. They don't sugarcoat the info they give you about your skin; their honesty is valueable to the results you'll receive. Don't go! – The astheticians don't let you relax, they just try to sell you things while you are getting a treatment. They try to upsell on the treatment your getting, packages, products, you name it. It's definitely not a bargain. They say something is one hour and it's more like 35 minutes. The steam pump is week and it wasn't even left on for 5 minutes. At the end of all this they practically force you to leave a tip. Save yourself the money. Greate value – I had problem skin and went there following their ads. Felt very good about the service at the first time and signed up a package. When I went back for the second time, I already much better about my facial skin. I strongly recommend for the people who have problematic skin.
