Always love staying at Essenhaus with my family. Such a pleasant atmosphere in the country. Grounds are meticulously taken care of and plenty of walking trail space.
Our stay wasn't wonderful as usual. We normally love our visits here but this trip wasn't as much fun for us. Our beds were uncomfortable. One of the beds was actual lumpy and broken. The other bed was tolerable. Normally our visits were tranquil but this stay there were a lot of kids running through the halls after midnight and thumping from up stairs. We slept very poorly this weekend, which made for long days. We will definitely try again because we love this place.
We always love our time at Essenhaus! This time we took two grandchildren with us since they had never been in a hotel before. They loved the pool and hot tub! We were there for the bad storm on Sunday. We were without power for a long time. The front desk staff gave the kids glow sticks which helped us navigate the dark hallway. We were surprised that there was no generator at the inn!
