I found this place online and i had called for information, and a woman answered and said there were no beds at this time but she could give me other crisis houses info. there was a woman in the background of the call and i had asked if my medical conditions and medications would be an issue, they had listed a medication list of medications and the meds i am on were not on the list so i had asked if my meds would be an issue. the lady in the background jumped on the call and said yea, no sorry, we are not doing that. but go ... read more
I self referred myself. I arrived on a Tuesday morning as appointment was 800am. I arrived 750am. Greeted by staff at door and brought me inside. My belongings were kept in office and person and purse checked. Then I was given a tour of facility. They gave me a packet to complete and guidelines of house and information and additional resources. Then I met with a social worker for intake assessment. Esperanza Crisis Center helped my son by explaining exactly what his symptoms were doing to him which he did not get from the Hospital. This made the world of difference to have someone caringly explain what was going on and why. This helped him make better choices and understand what the consequences of not taking medications are. Thank you!

Don’t go to this crisis house if you are in a crisis. I was told I am in too deep of a crisis and to go to the hospital, was then kicked out onto the street in a city I am unfamiliar with to wait for my ride. WHILE I WAS IN “TOO MUCH OF A CRISIS”? No care and no patience.
