My husband and I went to Esmai’s months ago, and to this day I still think about the Buffalo Chicken Macaroni and Cheese. We had gone to see The Odyssey at the Coolidge Corner Theater, and wandered about afterwards looking for a place to grab a bite. We were welcomed cordially at Esmai’s and enjoyed some delicious drinks as we waited for our food, recounting our favorite bits from the epic movie we had just watched. Banger Banh Mi. We tried both Curried Tofu ($16) and Lemongrass Chicken ($17) versions and both were excellent. Truffle Fries (Separate order $13) was mediocre because it was just fries (Not the best on its own either) with cheese crumbs. Definitely not a truffle fries. And forgettable. Coffee was good. Had a Pistachio Latte with oat milk, and it was okay. Classic Vietnamese Coffee was presented well and tasted good. Would return if I’m around.
Came here for parents weekend at Boston College, with around 70 guests. Could not have had a better experience on the second floor. Food was amazing, staff were great, bar tender was excellent. Could not have picked a better spot. Definitely get the skewers, mac and cheese, and brussel sprouts. David and Mai, were amazing hosts and cant wait to go back.
Amazing staff, great menu, and a very charming vibe.
