Loved it! Great service. Fun with brown paper tablecloth and a dozen medium Maryland crabs, wooden hammer and apple cider vinegar to dip crabmeat. Hush puppies were to die for too!
Crabs had an odd smell. Had to have a minimum of 2 orders for the crab feast. When asked for a second dozen was told no - could only have half a dozen. Then it took so long when asked for more said my time ran out. Well it wouldn't have run out if he had made the crabs when I asked! Took 25 minutes for him to remember to bring me water. And it took so long that by the time I got the water it was melted. Was disappointed and the 20% gratituty was another rip off
As a Marylander, I have found the atmosphere and service amazing. The Crabs are up to par with what I am used to in Baltimore. Will definitely go back in the future!
Had the Calamari & was disappointed. Thought that they would have fresh Calamari not the frozen kind. Plus it took 20+ mins to receive the order. Then the waitress decided to sit there and play with her hair. She threw me off after that. So I just hurried n ate my mediocre Calamari and my wine n left. Didn't want her touching my food.
If the food wasn't so good, it would be one star! The service was slow...like the slowest service I've ever seen. Party of 5, and every meal came out one at a time. Several of us were finished eating before others even received their orders! No apologies, and the staff acted as if it were totally normal.
I am a seafood lover evet since I can remember. The crabs and shrimp were amazingly tasty and go well with beer. I also tried the oysters and they were on point. I did taste the clam chowder soup but was a bit disappointed but good. My son ordered a burger and did not eat because he loved the crabs and shrimp. Overall Ernies is one of the best places in the DMV for crabs.
