Daughter had surgery to repair Pectus Excavatum. Dr. Grethel was kind, thorough, and honest. Couldn’t ask for anything more! His primary nurse and his team at the hospital are top notch. I’m so lucky we found him!

This is the second time we are seeing Dr. Grethel. He is very polite and took time to listen to our kids concern about the procedure. Both visits in 2019 and now was excellent. We had post op visit he continued to communicate clearly with the kids and addressed their questions. Everything went very well. I would choose him again and refer family members and friends to him.
Everybody is busy… everyone has to prioritize tasks and responsibilities... But if you’re needing to take your child to a pediatric surgeon, you’re in a pretty scary place. Prompt communication matters. Managing patient/parent expectations matters. Bedside manner matters. Sensitivity and empathy matter. My 17 year old son had pectus surgery in December and Dr. Grethel was great. He and Cheryl were thorough and answered all of our questions before surgery. Follow up appointment went well. Dr. Grethel’s surgery team at Dell Children’s Hospital was awesome too! We’re very happy to have found Dr. Grethel.
