Avoid Equip at all costs. We searched for help for our daughter and were given Equip as an option. We started with their therapist who did nothing to help her. They seemed more worried about checking the box and filling out surveys than addressing any underlying issues during sessions. Even when we brought this up, we were told that they would address other issues like our daughter’s depression later on. As someone who just finished up their second round of treatment at Equip, I could not recommend this program enough. I was so lucky to have a wonderful treatment team who was always accommodating me and my busy schedule. And considering I didn't have any family joining in with me for the Family Based Treatment format, my team came together and made my experience very comfortable despite the ups and downs of eating disorder recovery. I’m an adult with ARFID. I could not be more grateful to have found Equip. I had no idea what to expect and was quite anxious getting started. There were a few issues in regards to communication after my insurance changed and treatment had to be paused until coverage was confirmed. The care provided by the medical professionals being good is the only positive comment I can make about Equip Health. For being a digital platform that promotes a team of providers assisting you, Equip does a horrific job at data management. I had to repeatedly give basic information during the intake process as the professionals do not seem to have access to a centralized patient record. We enrolled my minor child in Equip Health last year for about 2-3 months and discontinued services in December. I communicated that we did not wish to continue treatment in December and gave feedback about why. Despite this, we were contacted repeatedly and ended up attending a single discharge appointment in January. We are now being billed for the full spectrum of services after we had already stated our intent to stop care, which has been frustrating.
