Equipment is not maintained and out of date
Absolutely no reason to have an Equinox membership outside of a major city. For context, I had a corporate membership through my company in NYC. After leaving the company, I did not receive any communication indicating that my membership was canceled. In fact, I got a text from a membership advisor asking me how he could help me best utilize my membership with the new year. Girlfriend got me a Aescape robot massage that Equinox offers. I went there a few days ago and the issues were 1) they were running 20 minutes behind schedule which with a robot massage can only be possible if they let someone else start very late. 2) wheh I got down to the spa area they said someone is supposed to escort me down. How is they my problem? If you’re thinking about joining Equinox, please read this before you sign anything. The gym might look luxurious, but the real business here is hidden fees and predatory policies. I was told I could easily freeze my membership if I wasn’t using it. Reality? They slapped me with a $150 freeze fee for NOT using the gym, and then continued charging me my full monthly dues anyway — money they say will only be “credited back” after a full year.
