People are canceling their Equinox memberships in response to a deeply disturbing marketing campaign that depicted the sexualized, dismembered head of an Asian woman. The imagery was racist, misogynistic, and appeared to normalize violence against women. Equinox has since taken the campaign down, but removing it does not erase the harm or the questions it raises about how this content was approved in the first place. Very frustrating customer service experience. I purchased an Equinox gift card at this location on August 29 with the help of the front desk. I was told that “anyone can buy the gift card,” and no restrictions were explained to me.
