My experience with this practice caused lasting trauma, and I believe prospective and current clients deserve to hear about it. My therapist, Natalie Kinoian, repeatedly crossed boundaries in ways I only truly recognized and faced after leaving treatment and working with another therapist. This place is a haunted lighthouse. It is not safe. Maybe it appears safe from the outside. The light only flickers a little while falling apart on the inside. It’s so difficult for queer folks to find queer therapists. It is a severe lack anywhere but especially Bergen county. That is how a place like this preys on us. I felt like it was the only option. It's critical for members of the LGBTQ community to be able to connect with vital mental health professionals that will accept them & how they identify fully & with compassion. I can say without question that Equality Mental Health fits this description. Highly recommend!
