I was in Epworth for about a year and it was honestly the best thing that could have happened to me. They taught me coping skills and mechanisms I could use instead of reverting back to drug use. Because of them I have been sober since I was 15. Most of the thanks has to go to Kathy, and Tammy..they changed my life
I went here from ages 10-13, born in '94. I was doped up on so many damn medications that I now have severe issues, caused by said meds. Plus I gained 200 lbs in a single year, and they didn't even think to have me switched out on medications. Absolute trash. Except for you, Kathy. You were an angel, and I miss you ♥️
I was at Epworth from June 1986 to March 1987. Yeah their rules and regulations were tough, but they are supposed to be, because your dealing with angry and sometimes violent children. I have to keep in mind that it was my behavior that got me put in there to begin with, but that said it didnt fix me. what it did do however is teach me enough to get through that part of my life. My son Devon committed suicide there in 2011. how on earth could a place that is supposed to rehabilitate children leave them unattended long enough to be able to do something like This? My heart will never heal I miss Devon every day and I blame this place for his death. I do not think this place is adequately staffed or supervising the children. parents do not let your children go here I believe this place is tainted with evil.
As a child i was in the Mills cottage for 2 yrs almost a yr of it was spent at a table in "table time" the rest was in seclusion with a urinal.
