An eclectic wine list and extensive cocktail selections, welcome guests to Epic’s first floor lounge; a voluminous space with exposed brick and intimate seating. Citysearch Editorial Review – Everything about Epic is decadent, from the massive downstairs bar always packed with trendsetters, to the upstairs restaurant draped in dark wood and floor-to-ceiling windows. The River North restaurant feels rich and luxurious, and the same can be said of chef Stephen Wambach’s menu of contemporary American dishes with a French twist. The menu is reminiscent of a steakhouse with a raw bar and a light and refreshing tuna tartare for starters. As would be expected, the selection of steaks is top... read more
Bad News! – Last night-A man pushed a woman down that was dancing too close to him. I told security, but they allowed him to stay after they realized how drunk the girl was. Really? The jerk & his friends were making rude comments to me the rest of the night and trying to intimidate me...I told a manger and he said the girl was really drunk & the guy was not, so they had to believe him over her. I told them I didnt know either one & my whole group saw it happen...and I said "If you think the girl is too drunk, why are you st... read more
tis a shame – It is such a shame that a place with such a great face is a pure farce. after a 20 min wait quote and 1.5 hours worth of drinks we left hungry...hope they know who let walk out very uphappy.....in Chicago word travles fast in well connected circles.
Gouging out our wallets – Who charges $14 for the “house” pinot? $16 for three pieces of grilled octopus? $18 for a single crab leg? 3 infuriating dollars for 2 ounces of horseradish? The same people who bring out desserts we didn’t order and then charge for them. Seated 15 minutes late for a 9:30 reservation, we knew that things could have been worse. The bar was packed and the staff had trouble navigating since management thinks patrons shelling out $13.25 for a half-filled martini would appreciate having none of the preci... read more
WOW! – I went to Epic for opening night and it was, well, epic! :) I can't wait to go back and actually sit down for dinner. We had appetizers and drinks and it was fabulous. Definitely a place to take the visitors from out of town, the significant other, parents and a place for a fun night out!
