Good service
Drove 1.5 hours to come for an eye exam, but was worth it! First time I can see crystal clear in years!! Took the time to try multiple contacts and was not rushed like all the other places I have been too in the past! Do not hesitate to make an appointment with Dr. Melissa DeGroot.
The exam was OK. I can't say enough terrible things about the service. I had to ask multiple times to get my prescription emailed to me. Then I needed a copy of the paid bill to submit to insurance- 3 emails and 4 phone calls before I was lucky enough to have someone pick up the phone. No explanation on why my voice or email messages were returned. Now I have the email but I need a password to open it. I wonder how long it will take for me to get that?
Quite frankly, they are disorganized, unable to answer the phone or return a call in a timely manner (they literally never answer when you call), unable to provide clear accurate information about which insurances they accept, and I was told by my eye insurance they've been overcharging me on co-pays. The staff is not knowledgeable. Literally only started seeing saw them a decade ago before I had health insurance, and if you have no other choice, I suppose it works. My boyfriend and I have been going to see Dr. Ryan Schultz for about 2 1/2 years. He is always highly professional, yet personable and has provided solutions for some of our eye issues that other optometrists have not offered or considered in the past. Though I do not personally know details of optometry, it seems he is highly trained in his field and seems to continually look for ways to educate himself on new advances in the field.
