I had an interview with Engineered Air in January, and I have never felt so oppressed by my gender. The man who showed me around kept saying “ladies don’t usually work here” and then he would go on to say “ladies don’t like to do this work because they have to work in tight spaces “. Then he brings me over to an area where there are primarily women working and said “this job will be more for you but I’m not sure there are any openings “. I am so angry about it and it was weeks ago.
Well.....In the beginning everything was alright, then I was being trained by multiple people on the heat wheel. Things were so confusing towards the later half of my training. We ran out of raw materials, then I worked in another area of the same department then cleaned the machine I was supposed to have been trained on correctly and then I was called into my managers office, only to find out I was being let go. Ultimately, a very disappointing experience.
