I have lived in MidTowne on the Park since 2009 as one of the first purchasers within the community. Since then, Enfinger Development has consistently overpromised and underdelivered; for example, each lot was supposed to have a Developer-provided tree in the front yard (did not happen), the clubhouse was supposed to be completed by 2010 (it was finished in 2020), the clubhouse came in at double the price ($1M vs $400k) and half of the $1M bill was forced onto the HOA, empty lots were to have additional playground and/or par... read more
Horrible HOA experience with the Enfingers. They demand full control of their neighborhood, in which they don’t live, and care nothing about what is best for their paying customers. Midtowne, Enfinger-led HOA, has mandated lawn care that is overpriced and horrible quality and they refuse to listen to homeowners in which we just want the freedom to cut our own lawn care, or even just choose somebody of our own choosing. The Enfingers are the developers in many Huntsville communities. I live in one of them, MidTowne on the Park. Since the first houses there were built years ago, corporate lawn care has been forced upon residents because the HOA President, Sonja Enfinger, wants it. Under Alabama law, Homeowners Associations (HOAs) can have broad authority. Some HOAs are more restrictive than others. Enfinger Development takes advantage of the flawed HOA laws in Alabama that allow Developers to assert unreasonable control over homeowners.
