Just received a call to reschedule my appointment the day before. Next available is mid June. This is the 3rd time this appointment has been scheduled and by the time I am seen, it will be roughly 10 months waiting. I am furious.
I had an appointment scheduled for 3 months and they canceled ONE day before. This was incredibly unprofessional. My primary care doctor and my insurance-assigned nurse state I urgently need to see an endocrinologist, but the office here denied my visit, saying they don't treat diabetes, hypoglycemia, and hypothyroidism. It is baffling that this is an endocrinology clinic that does not treat endocrine disorders.
They suck at answering the phone.
I would say that I have always gotten good care at Virginia Mason. I feel the doctors understand my illness and strive to provide not just good care and advice but also display empathy and compassion. I especially want to call out PA Shaw from the Kirkland clinic and Dr. Brzana from the Seattle clinic for asking the right questions and providing honest answers and alternatives. Alissa is one of the best Associates in the Virginia Mason Hospital system. When I called to try and get an appointment at other healthcare facilities, I felt like I was treated like a number, but she shattered that stereotype in so many ways. This young lady went above and beyond and managed to get me an appointment, not only the day after I called her, but also set me up with other departments and listened to me, listened to my situation patiently and actually took the time and care to make sure that I was treated like a h... read more
