Get directionsFilthy hospital with horrible care. The P. T's and O'Ts do their best, but the adminstration is horrific. The cleaning people throw dirty soiled laundry in with clean clothes. The people who bring the food tray set it down, even when the person lying in that bed is not capable of holding a spoon. My husband was in their and they released him while lying and saying he could go home. He could not stand. He is still in a hospital trying to learn to walk and use his arms and hands again.
Sepsis landed my dad in the ICU mid-December. He finally was sent to a skilled nursing facility for rehab where he continued to rapidly decline. My sister and BIL finally just brought him home as we knew any further decline would render him incapable of being cared for at home, and that meant ever again. He wasn’t home an hour before being sent him to the ER with dangerously low oxygen levels: Another UTI and a blood infection. He continued to decline to where he no longer had ANY mobility. On a hoyer lift and unable to sup... read more

I wish I could give it less than one star, I am a young minor, i had a terrible experience, I was in spinal cord unit and had a nurse/nurse technician she spoke rudely about other patients to the other nurse in the room, she acted like a was an annoyance when I was in a tragic car accident that left me unable to take care of myself, she also said to the other nurse about how she ignored another patients call because " he never needs anything important" right in front of me acting as if I weren't there, I also would press ... read more
I can’t say enough good things about Encompass. My 89 year young Mom had a three week stay. She had spent 2 and a half months in Mayo and flat on her back with severe COVID complications. Mom had been in bed all that time. Encompass has Mom stronger, walking, smiling, participating, and once again enjoying life. They never give up on their patients. From the physical and occupational therapists to the nurses and the assistants, and the Case Managers, and the maintenance crew, the ENTIRE FACILITY/HOSPITAL, we can’t send enoug... read more
AND I WILL ALSO COMMENT MY ROOM WAS DIRTY AROUND ALL THE BASEBOARDS AND IN THE CORNERS... IT NEEDS A REALLY GOOD CLEANING! HOUSEKEEPING WOULD COME IN AND MOP WITH A SWIFTER TYPE THING BUT THE ROOM NEEDS A DEEP CLEAN.
I'LL START OFF WITH THE BAD... I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE NURSES AND TECHS AT LAKESHORE EXCEPT FOR MONIQUE, WINNIE, AND BRIDGETTE. SADLY I ONLY HAD WINNIE & BRIDGETTE THE LAST FULL DAY I WAS THERE - THEY WERE MOST AWESOME WITH EVERYTHING - THEY DID THEIR JOB AND THEY DID IT IN A TIMELY MANNER! MONIQUE WAS GOOD, AS WELL, VERY QUIET BUT EFFICIENT & DID HER JOB, MAYBE NOT ALWAYS AS TIMELY BUT I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH HER WORK ETHIC, GOING TO SCHOOL 4 DAYS A WEEK AND WORKING THE OTHER 3 DAYS. NOT THE THREE I MENTIONED ABOVE... read more
I am the wife of Fred Davis, who was a patient at Encompass for two weeks in mid-July. Overall, he received good care, and I credit his team of physical and occupational therapists for seeing that he was able to stand using a walker after 11 hours of spinal surgery on July 5th. They inspired Fred to work hard and taught both of us how to safely transfer him from a wheelchair to a bed, to the toilet, and into a car. I would like to specifically mention Griselda Wilson, the director of pharmacy at Encompass of Columbia. She to... read more
They are horrible, they have nearly killed my mother twice now, the first time she had a severe infection in her hip after surgery, that went unnoticed until she was very sick. This time she has been slurring her words and confused for three days now (low blood pressure), and they waited until apparently her eyes rolled back in her head (she was told by a nurse, who sat with her), then they left her unattended and waited until 3pm to finally send her to acute care at the hospital. This facility is not equipped to treat patie... read more
