Believe your patients when they say they are in too much pain to do therapy, and further investigate to see if there is something that was missed. Don't chalk it up to the patient's "personality" and try to discharge them with no improvement in their presentation. My mother finally got the right diagnosis after going to a SNF, where the staff listened to her. She had surgery last week and is WALKING!
RecommendedMy father who has advanced Parkinson's was here for 2 weeks and the care he received was amazing. The therapists, nurses, nurse techs, social workers and Dr. K were wonderful. They have a higher standard of care and compassion at Encompass compared to other rehabs in the area. They deserve a 5 star rating everyday.
My 42 yr. old son had 2 strokes. Spent 8 wks. at Christiana Hospital and has been here for 4 wks. He has relearned how to talk & walk and we are thrilled. Staff is awesome!
HealthSouth Rehab in Middletown, Delaware is awesome! It's more of a hospital that is a rehab center. The best thing about them is that they LISTEN. If they don't know about #PostPolioSyndrome, they ask and change their methods of dealing with me. Was told rest day today No therapy. Adjusted my pain medicine. At 7am today was told there were no admissions yesterday so I was changed to meet THERE requirements. Is it a matter of salaries? I refused now I will have therapy on 4th of July. Another salary issue?
