This is my 2nd time dining at Encino. Both times were to celebrate a birthday, while this time, the party was much larger. Much like the first time, the service was slow and it took forever to receive our drinks and food. We didn’t even see our one server (for a party of 13) until about 30-45 minutes after the last person arrived from our party, because he said “I didn’t want to have to go over the specials twice”. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing from start to finish. The customer service was incredibly poor. We felt like an inconvenience from the moment we walked in. Staff were inattentive, dismissive, and seemed far more interested in talking among themselves than checking on customers. 0/10 would not recommend going in a large party. Went out with some friends to celebrate a birthday. Was told that because the party was large an $80 deposit would be required in order to hold the table (never heard of this practice before and I’ve been to definitely more larger scale restaurants). It was already requested that we were not going to do one big check across 13 people and was told the $80 would be evenly distributed by waiter upon request.
