I would like to shed some light on Empire Management and share my experience renting with this FANTASTIC company for future renters. I am extremely disappointed with the building management’s negligence regarding safety and maintenance standards. They have repeatedly failed to conduct fire inspections, adequately manage waste disposal, and maintain clean common areas. Additionally, essential safety measures like salting the parking area during freezing conditions have been overlooked. The air conditioning system also remains unfixed. The absolute worst company to rent from. First of all, they increased my rent by over 60 percent which I didn’t even know was legal in the state of NJ, but apparently it is if you rent from small buildings.They gave us 30 days to decide whether we wanted to pay an extra $1600 a month. Not to mention me being pregnant and figuring out where to live in 30 days. The apartment has dated appliances and 0 amenities, besides a shared backyard that they never maintained. This company was an absolute nightmare to deal with while I rented from them in Paulus Hook, Jersey City. They consistently neglected the upkeep of the backyard, leaving the grass to grow wild and unsightly. Repairs were a joke to them, as they took an eternity to address even the most basic issues. And worst of all, they INCREASED THE RENT BY OVER 60% and only gave us a mere 30 days to decide whether or not to renew the lease.
