I know that there are wonderful people that work at this nursing home. My concern is the background checks done on one of the LPN's. It appears he has been arrested many times, yet was able to pay dearly to expunge his records to get his nursing license and work for the Vets Nursing home here in Daytona. While I believe in 2nd & 3rd chances, this man's recent rants, rages and disturbed behavior should concern all involved at this home.
A fantastic facility staffed by very caring professionals that obviously take pride in what they do and care very much about the heroes they are caring for. Five stars is really not sufficient
I know this is a long shot cause this is an old post but I was wondering if someone could take a picture of Bill "Frenchie" French for me. I am married to his nephew and we live out if state and its hard for us to get to Florida to see him.. We have been to this facility 1 time and we enjoyed it very much and we were so glad to see how happy Bill is there....

This comment is from Sandy Lombardo Harlan: I am so thankful my Dad is living here. All nursing homes should be this fantastic! All the Vets are treated with respect and dignity..in fact the staff treats them like their family, as all elderly people should treated in nursing homes. It's sad for me to see my Dad when it can only be for a few days every 6 months but I leave knowing he is getting the best care possible. The State of Florida runs this place which is a good thing since the VA is such a mess!!
I love that they have pets there. The staff members are extremely helpful and friendly and the facility is clean.
As a Volunteer sine 1993 my day is not complete if I can not get toe ELB Wednesdays in particular when Father john Washington Post 1944 of the Catholic War veterans of the U S A serve coffee and doughnuts. The last Monday of the month the Father Charles Waters Post 1962 has a meeting with the Catholics and anyone who wishes to attend. With my wife Joan we come home feeling like we were just given a present.
