Dr. Rutherford is absolutely outstanding in every way: a brilliant doctor, a compassionate person, and practical problem solver. I simply can't imagine a finer hip and knee orthopedic surgeon. He explains everything fully and offers methods of treatment in an easy-to-understand way. On top of that, he is just a plain nice person!! Just a marvelous doctor!

Dr. Sullivan saw me about severe shoulder pain. Shoulder severely arthritic, bone on bone, damaged rptator cuff and tmshredded tendons. He did my reverse shoulder surgery the 1st part of Dec, 2025. I woke up with very little pain from surgery. Iam 4 weeks into rehab that I go to 3 times a week. Dr Sullivan is an excellent Dr and i would suggest to anybody to see him with your orto problem. Stay away from this place if you want good therapy. Dr Leigh did not take into consideration about my ankle. She made my ankle worse! She just decided to do what she wanted twisting my ankle & made movements that I was in very bad pain. Turns out went to the Ortho for my ankle and everything was damage plates and screws. She should have never touched me knowing my ankle was out of alignment and not straight .

Dr. Brian Sullivan, my surgeon; Dr. Sheridyn Tolbert, my occupational therapist; and Leigh Roth, PA, with Emerge Ortho in Hickory, NC, are wonderful at what they do!! They are very skilled and knowledgeable in the fields they practice in, as well as very compassionate, attentive, and empathetic. Dr. Sullivan did an excellent job on my wrist surgery and the follow up care was exceptional! Dr. Tolbert helped me tremendously with regaining my strength and movement in my wrist after the surgery. Dr. Jason Rogers is a very exceptional surgeon! He is remarkably talented and deserves "beyond 5 stars"! Dr. Rogers performed two procedures for me and to date, my recovery has been very smooth. Additionally, he listens to your concerns and addresses them in a "timely fashion". I thought my last negative experience for my shoulder at Emerg Ortho was an anomaly. Today I am dealing with my back. Supposed to get a steroid shot for severe degenerative disc issue, a lot of sciatic radiating pain, Emerg Ortho said they sent it to my pain management (PM) office literally .5 miles away. After 5 days and multiple requests to PM to check for the referral before my appt today and there is no record of it after 5 days. I went for a more effective back exercise. The exercise given me only included my knees. That exercise tore the right meniscus, now requiring surgery. Please investigate facility before booking an appointment. Please do not use emergeortho.
