I came into the emergency department because I was at my wits end. My urologist had failed me, my interventional radiologist had failed me, my palliative care team had failed me. I was left a pawn stuck between the urology department and the interventional radiology department at Kaiser. I’ve accompanied my sister twice for an ER visit. There is free Wi-Fi and a lot of security. If you bring bags, they might be checked. You have to walk through a metal detector. The waiting room is spacious and has coloring pages and crayons for patients. During our first visit, we were seen and given a bed immediately. The nurses and doctors were nice. Great experience here. Came on a rainy Sunday, the Dr and Nurse were especially great and I was seen by the Dr within 20 minutes of arrival. Things were clean and well run. My only knock is the high out of pocket/ cost and deductible, even with the $900 in insurance I pay per month! Though I would say that's more the fault of the medical model in America, rather than this specific ER.
