I wish I could give negative stars. I visited the ER and was SENT HOME, to drive myself, after being pumped with percosets and was told I just had a pinched nerve. A week later I had to come back for emergency spinal fusion surgery. Literally risked my life because the ER missed how horrible my injury was.
They took care of me
I was seen in the Toledo hospital ER by a nurse and PA/NP. The nurse was extremely rude to me, and the PA brushed off what I was concerned about. They only started acting courteously once they found out that I was a nurse that worked at the same hospital which was almost 2 hours into the encounter. The bedside manner was absolutely horrible and I hope I never have to go back.
I was "seen" by a PA, however, an actual exam never happened. The provider never even entered the exam room. He asked 2 questions from the doorway about a physical injury, not illness, and never did any kind of exam contrary to the notes he submitted. I was discharged without seeing a provider or given any treatment outside of xrays. I filed a complaint with the hospital that was validated and followed up on as well.
Was kind from the moment I stepped into the ER with a suspected heart attack until the moment I was discharged the next day. Had to stay in the ER the whole time as no beds were available upstairs.
