This was one of the most humiliating experiences of my life. I came to the UW Health University Hospital Emergency Department because I was experiencing unbearable pain. I had already been in the ER the previous day, and during these visits I required multiple doses of IV pain medication and morphine just to control the pain. Horrible experience 8 almost 9 hours in the waiting room I have MS took a fall hit my head…no feeling in my arms or legs I’m in so much pain no updates i can’t stand the yelling and cursing in the waiting area security doesn’t look helpful not does nothing and let’s not talk about Uw police who play on the phone and sit in the char not once have they done rounds what a terrible experience I’m so sad the place has gone to crap…ohhh while masks are mandatory apparently the security police nor triage nurses believe that it appl... read more

Currently waiting 6.5 hours to be seen after a fall and head injury with Multiple Sclerosis flare up. No feeling in both legs both arms. Balance vertigo and blurred vision and still no priority. Come to the bathroom and this is what you see. Security is not sensitive to mental health they are all white males who don’t say hi. Look, going to the emergency room isn't great. They are always really crowded and the waits are crazy long (my recent adventure was 10 hours), but the people who cared for me (doctors, nurses, technicians, residents, and even the volunteers) were very professional, caring, and compassionate. They know it's crazy, but they are just doing their jobs so I will give them five stars for their work. Thanks to all of them for doing their best in a bad situation. I have had many healthcare experiences throughout my life, including positive experiences with UW Health, and I have never felt the need to write a review for anywhere until now. This visit was one of the most upsetting and disappointing healthcare experiences I’ve ever had.
