Wow. This place is completely unprofessional. I walked in to register in the emergency room and the intake nurses were giggling and chatting for a full 10 minutes about their dinner date before they registered me. Then some lady comes up to me to register me—she proceeds to loudly go over all of my personal details in front of everyone else sitting in the waiting room, including my social security. At the Lagoon Mineola Hospital, there are many HIPA violations. They ask you very private questions in front of everyone sitting in the waiting room. They also give diagnoses in front of all those people. When I was in that hospital 5 months ago, I received very poor care. A bunch of nurses asked the same questions. I told a nurse what medications I was taking and to remove other medications that were still on the record that were old and I was no longer taking them. It’s not the best place to be but you know you are being cared for by professionals and a caring staff. After my husband spend a night in the emergency room he was transferred to a room in the hospital. We got the best of care, healed, and now in recovery. Thank you NYU for saving my husband’s life
