My grandfather's second wife had a staph infection in a hospital in Winston-Salem about 2000 and they took out her first knee replacement that she had in 1994 when she lived up in Massachusetts and she had to use a wheelchair for a year and a half without a knee. On 8/22/25, I went to the Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC, for a cat scan scheduled for 9:30. I arrived at 9am, checked in and went to the waiting room. There is a sign in the reception area advising patients to let them know if you wait longer than 15 minutes to be taken back for your appointment. At about 9:45, someone came and took me back to draw blood. I have no idea why that was done since I had just had had a complete blood workup done as part of an overall checkup. Worst hospital in the world besides Cannon. Myself and my granddaughter have been misdiagnosed multiple times.They also let me leave with a BP 210/120 and a stroke patient. So yea I would not recommend going there.
