If I could give this place negative stars I would. It’s taken me years to muster up the courage to speak upon what happened to me years ago. In late 2023, I overdosed on my medication in an attempt to end my life. When my parents called the ambulance and the paramedics arrived, they questioned me when I was dozing in and out of consciousness. I just want to give a shout out to Dr. Bowers in the ER department. She's very compassionate, patient, and knowledgeable and I'm very glad she was there when I went in. She took the time to explain what was going on making sure I was following, and gave me plenty of opportunities for questions. What prompted me to write the review (which I normally don't do), is that she called me a few days after my visit to check up on me and ask if I had any questions. I Don't really know what to say about the emergency room. But what I do know is that it takes so long to get called in the waiting room!!! I do love this hospital though because I was born here :) sweet staff just super short staffed
Definitely needs improvements especially in emergency room. Hire more staff so people don’t wait for ever in ER
Brought a loved one with dementia to the ER and was impressed by the staff’s approach. They recognized the cognitive challenges and were proactive in minimizing sensory triggers to keep the environment calm. They were particularly patient in helping manage sundowning symptoms, and adjusting the care plan and pace to accommodate my loved one’s needs. We were seen quickly, and the empathy shown by the team made a high-stress situation more manageable for a memory-care patient.
