The Cannery may look nice on the surface but the management (Embrey) is a joke. They ignore resident issues, avoid emails, and only respond when you follow up. Policies are inconsistent and punitive for residents while unsafe and unmonitored for everyone else. Staff behavior is unprofessional and clearly reflects poor leadership. I renewed before realizing how bad they actually are — I would never choose an Embrey property again and I don’t recommend anyone else to either.
I moved in now 2 weeks ago and received a notice on my door advising of a property inspection. When I asked why when I just moved in and had been gone for 4 days from my apartment that a resident had a complaint. When asking the assistant manager what is it for she told me she is not at liberty to discuss it with me. But meanwhile they entered my apartment for no maintenance request or maintenance emergency or anything but searched through my things went in my closet and everything. This company is extremely unprofessional, lies and fails to pay back funds owed. One of the companies Regional Managers, Karen Roebuck, has completely disappeared from all corespondents. This company and it's staff will withhold funds and avoid you if you try and get what is rightfully yours. It has been months of lies, unprofessional behavior, incompetence and a lack of transparency from everyone I have interacted with at Embrey. Avoid. Not only will your apartment building not functionally work, Embry will lie to you constantly. I put in a workorder weeks ago about a broken elevator. They responded to say it was fixed. It wasn't and a building with over 300 residents still is relying on one elevator. Today, they sent out an email admitting it was broken and promising to have it fixed within 4 to 6 weeks, after they sent me messages telling me they already fixed the problem.
