The staff and manager were rude and inept… told us to call Hilton instead of helping solve the problem. The rooms are dated but livable.

Don’t come here for the location or the bar. Location is mediocre. More importantly, bar staff do not like their customers. They close early without notice. They actively discourage customers from enjoying a beverage, leaning on Alaska legislation for poor customer service. You’ll be comfortable here if you want condescending remarks and awkward interaction. Nanny-state delegate overseers.

Disappointed in the property. Not up to Embassy Suites standards: No recognition of status; Had to ask for water; Housekeeping looking for room hours before checkout (repeated knocking after first conversation); Barkeep not allowed to use judgement and carded obvious Seniors. Breakfast was good, wait staff was friendly. No Hilton survey tells you the GM doesn't care about feedback, just wants to sell rooms.

Let me be clear. This isn't a 5-star hotel. It isn't the Ritz Carlton. It is the best in it's class, which to me means it is a 5 star place to stay. The lobby is beautiful and there is a wonderful library and sitting room. There is a great fountain in the lobby with whale tails and water spurting out of them. It's a great first impression.
