The property manager Ms. Everlena Morant is a thief. The state of Connecticut requires landlords return security deposits with interest within thirty days of when tenants move. This lady lied about sending out my deposits and never showed proof of mailing. I haven't received my deposits back so I am forced to complaint to the Connecticut Department of Banking and ask for help from legal aid. If I was late on rent, I am sure she wouldn't hesitant charging me for late fees. She doesn't want to return security deposit on time. ... read more
Surprised by the negative reviews as we have lived here 3 years and love it!! We do have a third floor apartment with west facing windows so we get a ton of light— maybe lower levels or the other side of the building are darker. But the super is great and always responsive, whenever we had an issue it was fixed right away. Really decent rent for New Haven and a good location!
I would do 0 stars if I could. I have nearly 2 years of experience with this management company and have been disappointed with their services. Some of my ordeals have included the ceiling falling (with injuries), broken heaters, and most recently a rodent siting. During these incidents, I was told that help would have to "wait until Monday" and that I could "sleep on the couch" while plaster and ceiling repairs were done. A few tips for future renters: 1) Buy yourself a happy lamp or a lot of standing lamps. The apartments are very dark and devoid of sunlight. You may even find that the lamps in newly renovated units contain only 1 instead of 3 working bulbs. 2) Expect a lot of action before inspections, but do not think your other complaints are dealt with promptly.
