If you want/need someone to have a nice chit-chat with you and ask you how your day is going, he’s not for you. If you want someone that knows what he is doing, this is the doctor for you! He’s the only ENT that was able to help me with a problem I was having. Thank goodness someone recommended him to me.
Needed care after my amazing ENT retired. My prior ENT had offered to care for me in assisting with tubes in my ears for years. He saw the permanent damage of chronic ear infections that I had endured. When I finally needed them I met with Dr. Darryl J Elzinga. I will repeat the sentiments expressed by others in that he simply has no interest in patient care. I’m embarrassed that I paid for his so called “expertise”. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Elzinga and his team. He has performed ear tube surgery twice for my son and has always been exceptional. Dr. Elzinga is someone I trust completely because he genuinely cares about his patients and only recommends what is necessary—never trying to push for unnecessary procedures just to make a profit. I’m unbelievably disappointed in this practice and would not recommend Dr. Elzinga to my worst enemy. I don’t understand how someone like him or his assistant can possibly keep their job. When I arrived at his office with my son, who had been suffering from serious, undiagnosed sinus and respiratory issues for over a year, Elzinga’s hostility immediately filled the room and he treated us as if we were a massive waste of his time.
