I want to sincerely thank Elmhurst Hospital—all the surgeons, doctors, nurses, and every team member of this incredible institution. On May 19th, 2024, you saved my husband’s life. He went through four cranial surgeries, and thanks to your expertise and dedication, today he is recovering, feeling better, and preparing to return to everyday life. I had a deeply disturbing experience at this hospital. During intake, the forms asked for unnecessary and highly personal information about my race, religion, and even details about my upbringing. This felt discriminatory and invasive, especially in a healthcare setting. To make matters worse, the man at the front desk treated me with clear hostility and disrespect. I went to Elmhurst Hospital after an accident and was left sitting in severe pain for 3 hours. No nurse was ever assigned to me, and no one checked on me while I waited. When I told staff I was in pain, they just said ‘okay’ and walked away. I was told they were ‘busy today,’ yet I saw staff sitting down and having conversations instead of helping patients.
