I needed anxiety medication and I did not want to be judged because I do have a substance abuse incident in my background. To my surprise this was not held against me. I was able to get the med I wanted which my previous doctor refused to give me. It was easy to have my needs met here.
I would give 0 stars if I could. This guy is an absolute SCAM. My family member moved here and needed a psychiatrist. She scheduled an appointment and was not told which Madison office to go to. She then had to drive around to all of them, just to find out he wasn’t even showing up to her appointment. He doesn’t even have an office at one of the locations, just a mailbox, and the office manager has never seen him in person before. Oh and he makes you pay $400 BEFORE your appointment. I usually don’t even write reviews. But I feel it necessary for this one. If you’re looking to establish care with professional and kind people, this is not the place. I had four sessions with Brian C McAvoy and from the very first session their advertised services were lies. They say they offer a “free 15 minute consultation” and that was absolutely never offered to me. Only a $400 1 hour intake appointment. Mr. McAvoy never showed up for my child’s appointment. You pay in advance for an appointment. I tried calling to ask where he was. Since then, I have called and left messages on Elmbrook’s voicemail, written them emails, found Elmbrook on Facebook and sent a message to them there, same thing with Instagram…it’s been four days and no one will answer or get back to me. I came in looking for counseling services but was recommended an excellent medication for as-needed sleep issues that really helped me change my life around. Wonderful recommendation for my mental wellness that has been under strain with ADHD and anxiety.
