I was recommended by the VA to come to the Ellis Sober House in 2020 and I am very glad they directed me here first. Prior to arriving, I had no idea what a sober house was, nor what to expect. We had to pay 600 to get in there. We thought it was 200 a week with 400 security. It wasn't security, it was the fee for moving in there. The pictures of the ellis house in milford were beautiful but where they put the client was in east haven four or five people to a room and you had to go downstairs to use the bathroom and you had to get permission to take a shower. The client did end up leaving there and eventually went back to jail.
