i have been going to elledge for 10+ years. in the last year i have been trying to get pregnant, and elledge mis-prescribed me a hormone that was acting as an contraceptive instead of helping with fertility. she had me on this for 6+ months and when i called to ask her about this, i never got a call back (after speaking several times to the receptionist about this). she has wasted the last 7 months for me trying to conceive. she has a good bed side manner and is attentive, but i have been going there for a long time and have... read more
I have been seeing Dr. Elledge for around 5 years and I am pregnant, due soon. Her staff has always been great and nice and helpful to me. She is a great doctor and I trust her to deliver my child. The only thing is the wait is long when I really only need to see her for a few minutes! And I noticed that she sends me to the most expensive places for Ultra sounds etc. It could just be the area Torrance being over-priced and not her fault. With our first pregnancy she was encouraging my wife to get induced which we didn't feel was necessary. My wife had also gotten a really bad rash. Dr. E told us that the only way to get rid of the rash was to give birth. This convinced my wife to get induced which eventually led Dr. E acting very impatient and eventually to a c-section. When my wife again got the rash following the birth she went to a dermatologist who gave her a prescription she was told she could have taken while she was pregnant. A nice doctor. Poor follow up and long wait. Ordering lab works which most insurance won't cover without informing the patient first.
Dr. Elledge was very nice and knowledgeable when I saw her in 2009. She helped me a lot and has a very caring disposition. Although I had just gotten pregnant I switched doctors because her nurse was the rudest most unhelpful nurse I have ever dealt with. So often I would have to talk to the nurse to ask questions about how to take certain medications or how to do certain tests, and I just couldn't stand being treated like I was an idiot for having questions. This is my third time the front desk has told me they would call in a medication to the pharmacy or call me back and they never did. I am finding a different doctor due to the communication breakdown of the front desk.
