Ella runs an amazing training. The balance between experiential activities and teaching is just right. As someone who was nervous about the actual art component, I found the experience incredibly accepting, supportive, and therapeutic. If you’re on the fence about taking this training, I’d highly recommend it. You’ll feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged to explore the process without needing to be “good at art.”

Ella’s retreat gave me the opportunity to slow down and find a sense of calm in an otherwise hurried world. It was a beautiful space to pause, breathe, reflect, and simply be present. I left feeling refreshed, peaceful, and inspired to continue making creativity and mindfulness part of my everyday life. I came looking for a moment of peace and left carrying a little more of it with me.

I participated in Ella’s Fundamentals of Therapeutic Art Making Retreat in Marshall, NC, on September 4-6, 2026. The retreat was so much more than I thought possible. Ella created one of those rare weekends that stays with you long after you leave. Work with Ella, you won’t be disappointed. I joined her on her last therapeutic arts training retreat and it was educational, relaxing, fun, full of connection, effective, therapeutic, we had delicious and nutritious food, and more! Ella is skilled at what she does and I’d recommend her retreats or any of her other work. I look forward to reconnecting with her soon!
