The sun was setting in my rearview mirror as I pulled that heavy trailer up the mountain and away from Wilkesboro. Then suddenly- wizz, clunk Bam! -my transmission gave it up. I walked through the twilight searching for a cell signals and hope, when a couple of little old ladies in a pickup truck pulled over to see if needed help.
