Sent my dad in for respite care he was perfectly fine. The next day I call to see how he was doing and the staff said that "he's refusing to eat". I show up and he is unconscious, there's blood all over his face and on the floor . They didn't even call an ambulance. I had to tell them to. He needed emergency brain surgery for blunt head trauma. This is the worst facility I've ever encountered.
Upon my husband entering the sub acute rehab unit 1 North hall, we encountered a strong toxic odor of urine, I immediately complained to Director of Nursing, Rene, she denied the problem, but mentioned she would tell housekeeping. The next day housekeeping shampooed the hall rug which aggravated the situation more, now we have odor of urine mixed in with wet rug, mold & mildew. Our family first met with Elderwood Assisted Living Cheektowaga in the fall of 2017. My mother in law had several mini strokes. After discharge from the hospital, we contacted all the recommended home services pt ,op ,aids and meal on wheels and of course we were there daily. It soon became apparent we needed more help.
