The service received for skilled home health in Illinois for my Mom over a 2-1/2 month period was not up to our standards. There was much lack of communication with me by both the individual nurse and the office. The company they hired to take blood work and urine was a disaster - it took two weeks for the blood work to be received by my Mom's doctor and the company didn't even bother picking up the urine sample the day of, so it was ruined and had to be done again after hounding them to actually pick it up the next day. Elara Caring Hospice in Des Plaines lacks caring, has poor staff along with not having the ability to properly prevent or treat pressure sores or any other issues for that matter. The hospice nurse Linda lacks any knowledge and compassion for her patients. In addition, she has no bedside manner and knows that the patient eventually will die and does not seem to care if it's sooner or later. Caretaker ate my food & lied about doing it. Did not respect me & do things in my home. Resented me telling the way to do wash. She washed her jogging pants in my wash. Why? This service keeps harassing me. She put out little effort. Only wanted to know ; needed a caretaker still. This service should pay me for not good care.

I absolutely adore working with the Elara Caring team. I have worked with them professionally (both hospice and home health) for many years and to say that they care is a complete understatement and disservice to all the amazing things that they do. They are an exceptional group of individuals who truly focus on the care they give and they are not afraid to think outside of the box to ensure that a patient of theirs gets what they need. Truly amazing group of individuals.

Elara did a great job working with my Aunt while in hospice. Their care and concern went above and beyond. My sisters and I are very greatful for the help and understanding during this very emotional time. Thank you.
