I ordered carne asada. The steak did not taste like real steak. Tasted greasy and rubbery. I got sour cream which was an upcharge of 75 cents. It tasted spoiled. Like sour cream is supposed to be creamy. Not chunky. And taste weird. I asked for a spoon. Which I now regret. The spoon had a chip in it and cut my lip and made me bleed. The server was nice and did her best. But when I asked for the spoon she took about 15 minutes. And then I asked someone else who decided to check on the table. I guess the hostess? Really good Mexican restaurant. Great service. My favorites here are the chorizo dip and the ceviche. They also have good typical Mexican restaurant food and salsa. The chicken soup is fantastic
I moved to Florida from Colorado Springs, where authentic Mexican food is everywhere, and ever since relocating, I’ve struggled to find anything that even comes close. Most places around here lean heavily toward Tex-Mex, which just isn’t the same if you know, you know. That’s why I was so excited to discover El Sombrero Mexican Grill.
