They let my family eat there while the kids ate Chick-fil-A inside they were nice and polite and picked up their trash

I walked into El Rey on my way to Rowdy Rooster because the huge plates coming out of the kitchen caught my attention. They looked incredible, so I figured I’d give the place a shot. That was a massive mistake. I ordered the T-bone steak, and what showed up was an absolute disgrace. It was loaded with gristle, cooked way overdone/trash when asked medium rare, and looked like it had no business ever leaving the kitchen. ¡Ay Dios mío!! Where do I begin…this was a recommendation to us but, I believe maybe they were off tonight. Our waitress, an older woman, was not a happy camper. She spoke no English, which was fine, as I spoke fluent enough Spanish to accurately communicate our order. I’m thinking she may have filled in but waiting tables was not a natural thing.
