The food is okay. Prices keep rising, that's a pain. The servings are almost fair. They do have beer on ice, but I don't drink beer. Sometimes the salsa bar looks sloppy, but at least the flavor seems to remain consistent. I like that breakfast is offered at anytime of the day. The tortillas and frijoles (pinto beans) are excellent!
I have never experienced bad carne guisada tacos but the one I bought tonight was the worst I've ever had. While it was tasty and the tortilla was well done the meat pieces I was served had mostly hard nerve. I took a pic for you to judge for yourself. For $2.69 a taco I expect to get good chunks of meat.
Once again I get all the way home only to find they screwed up th order again! This is like the 6th or 7th time in the last year that they messed up my order! Pretty pathetic when you can't even make a simple order of tacos correctly. The itemized receipt was correct, what was in the bags though was not! They never seem to have a problem charging the correct amount for your order, filling the order correctly seems to be dificult for them though. In all my 30 years of living in the valley I have never had a bad tamale. Well El pato changed that for me. I ordered 2 dozen pork tamales. They only had 1 dozen. Thank god, because they were horrible!!!! so dry I can not even swallow them. And when I got them they were cold. The only reason I went there is because DALIAS was closed. I will never get tamales from El pato again. DISGUSTING!!!!!
This place needs to take pride in their work. They get orders wrong, even when they repeat the order back to you correctly, and I don't know about you, but I don't relish parking and opening up every pato wrapper to make sure they got the order right. As bad as that is, try being accused of being a liar when simply trying to notify them as opposed to asking for a refund. It seems avoiding responsibility is more important than treating your customers right.

Before the Van Burkleo's bought out El Pato from Mrs G. the food was as excellent authentic Mexican food. But once the Van Burkleo's bought them out sometime in 1999 to 2000 the quality of the food went with it. You can tell they changed food suppliers and went for something cheaper while jacking up prices. When I got home with my order, I noticed I was missing an order. I live 30 minutes away and could not go back so I called to inform them. I had to make my son a peanut butter sandwich since his order was missing. The employee said she was sorry and would give us the order if I went back within 3 days. I told her it is not worth going all the way back (30 minutes) for 1 bean Pato and espcially within 3 days. The employee was rude and had no compasion for what had occurred.
