El Minuto Cafe

4.4

About this business

It will almost always take more than "un minuto" to get a table at this busy downtown Mexican eatery, but people don't seem to mind waiting. The dining room is comfortable, colorful and convenient to all downtown venues. Its consistently good Sonoran-style Mexican food is a favorite with downtown workers and attendees at the Tucson Convention Center. The menu includes Tacos, Enchiladas, Burros, Chimichangas and the local favorite, Topopo salad. Everything is homemade and hearty.

Bad Food I'm sorry, but my idea of flat enchiladas was not the use of masa from tamales. We will NEVER return. Midway Molinas is SO MUCH better than this place.

HORRIBLE ! – The customer service here is HORRIBLE. The night "Manager" on thursdays is very unprofessional and rude. He could not manage the crowd of people coming, people were seated and waited over an hour for food. Many people left without eating due to the wait. I saw one girl go to the kitchen and get her own pitcher of iced tea since no waiters were coming around. One group did not pay because they said the food was horrible. We had our drinks and chips, then we left after waiting an hour. The waiter explained the coo... read more

Pleasant atmosphere – If you like Sonoran style food this is one of the best. The atmosphere is excellent but the food is bland as all get out, which is the case with all Sonoran food, in my opinion. I like pungent (spicy) food and although the staff made every attempt to accomodate my taste for spicy mexican food they did not. Friendly and pleasant dining and although the Sonoran style of mexican food is not my preference I do recommend this restaurant for the ambiance. Although the style of food is not my favorite I am a r... read more

Four generations of loving care go into authentic Sonoran-style dishes found inside this old adobe in the barrio. – The Scene A cozy old adobe house nestled between the Tucson Convention Center and the historic buildings of the old barrio has been the place for consistently delicious fare since 1936. A traditional Mexican decor with a satillo tiled floor and soft pink walls add to the authenticity. On Friday and Saturday nights, mariachis stroll through the restaurant and serenade diners. The Food You can't go wrong with the... read more
