Food was fine but definitely not great. “Authentic” in the name is laughable. The beans and rice were both too hard- like the rice was old and recooked and the beans were not cooked enough. The shrimp tacos tasted fine but I fear food poisoning. The patio and atmosphere is nice though. We went on 9/26 around 5pm and service was fine. Not notable one way or another. The convenience factor is the only thing keeping this place afloat, judging from the other reviews and our experience.
If I could rate 0 I would. I was actually scared to serve food cooked in this place to my family and I was only standing in line. Filthy place, first and foremost. Through the window you can see it looks like they never clean. Service is horrible, people were standing in line and Noone was even in the food truck. Guy that was waiting when I got there said he had been there 20 min and after about 10 min of my time waiting, some young teen ager came in, we heard the door shut in the back. I had a voucher for food and they told me they couldn't accept it, even though the resort just gave it to me. There were 6 kids working it and at one point, all 6 of them were out back drinking soda and/or vaping. There was a line of customers waiting to an empty food truck. Very poor service. There was only one server, a young girl, who was consistently working hard (wiped down our table and getting the others from the back).
My husband and I visit our family's lakehouse nearly every weekend in the Still Waters area, and he used to eat at this truck when it was "shady taco" every day after work and he loved it. We came back just tonight and and waited about 1.25 hours before we went up to the counter to ask how much longer it would be. Nice outdoor area to eat with yard games, shade, and an adjacent bar. Food however was very poor quality. The burritos were made with canned nacho cheese and beans, grilled peppers and chicken. Almost inedible. Would not recommend.
