The service is great. The food needs some more seasoning.
El Chico is the worst Mexican food in town. The chips are stale, the meals are sub par at best, and they are expensive. The service is terrible. Save your money and go to one of the non chain Mexican restaurants like Jalisco.
I ordered nachos and boy was I surprised! Taste & presentation far beyond my expectations! Family atmosphere too...clean...excellent food & service.
Really Great Mexican-American I used to live near the Mexican border in California. This place reminds me of the GOOD restaurants. Their guacamole is 5 stars. It's a big place with a friendly staff. Lots of yummy drinks. The food is excellent. Their Ribeye is amazing. I love their chimichangas. It's a little more expensive than your average Mexican place but a lot better quality. My husband and I had 2 meals a large beer and guacamole and it was a little over $40.
Surprisingly Good! – Though born & bred in South Texas, this was my first visit to El Chico in my 32 years. My pal and I were in town overnight for business and headed there for supper. In addition to the expected complimentary chips 'n salsa, the brisket enchiladas with chipotle sauce were VERY good...especially with a few bottles of Dos Equis! I wasn't expecting such yummy food from a chain. Too bad there are no El Chico restaurants in Tex-Mex glutted San Antonio!
Awesome Food, Great Prices My husband and I love going there. The food is awesome and well worth the prices there. Our drinks are always topped off also. We have always had service with a smile. Out of all the Mexican Resturants around here this is the one and only place that I go to.
Perfect the food was great i had the chicken and my husband was jealous, my son adored his food and of course the chips and salsa were great. Our drinks were always full and it wasnt that much money.
Best for your Buck! This place is great. It has the best mexican food in town, and is not annoyingly packed. I loved the fajitas, and the salsa is abosolutely amazing! The chips are served hot and fresh!
